Looks like a bootleg. Is it a Canadian release? I don't see it on Amazon.

Ooh, looks like a repackaging of the 25th Anniversay Blu. Nice catch!

You're wrong; if you had the "Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn" newest release you should be watching 5 minutes additionally to the 84 minutes length copy of "Evil Dawn 2: Dead by Dawn" the 25th Anniversay edition. -J.T.

Hmm, so then it's just the standard release re-issued.

You would hope if this was more than a re-release it would have been announced at the time. Looks like nobody took the risk of buying this on any of the forums presuming it was just a 25th re-issue. 5m extra runtime is interesting... or a Lionsgate screw up.

Makes me wonder if the footage is the extra stuff from the Mexican TV edit.

There's absolutely no way they included stuff from the Mexican TV version of ED2. If there's anything extra, it's probably the same as or similar to the German disc with the spliced in Nicotero camcorder footage from the special features on previous releases. Most likely, it's just an error on the listing. It would make no sense not to publicize an extended version of the movie (even on the packaging), nor would it make any sense to price it as low as they have. Companies don't put stuff like this out and not tell anybody. I'd put money on it bein a simple repackaging job. Regardless, I'm going to bite the bullet and snag this thing off Amazon because I'm a sucker, so I'll be back in a couple days and let y'all know.

Also, if they were to release an extended edition I can see it being held for release until next year considering it would be the 30th anniversary.
Haha I was just about to buy it to be sure there were no extras or anything I didn't already have (my Sam Raimi collection is embarrassing tbh. So many copies of everything...) but I'll wait to see what people are saying!

Yeah, I don't want to sound arrogant or whatever, but I doubt new extras or an extended cut of this film would fly under my radar. I have every US version of this movie on DVD/Blu-ray, a few from the UK, one from Germany, one from China, and a couple bootlegs/fanedits. I spend most of my internet time on Blu-ray/DVD/horror forums and news sites, as collecting Blu-rays (particularly of horror films) is one of my primary hobbies. I'd be really surprised if something got by without me noticing or hearing about it. I pay too close attention to that sort of thing. Again, I don't mean to sound braggy, so sorry if it comes off that way!

Not braggy at all. I'm actually pretty similar and honestly if there was a new release coming out I (hopefully) would have known, which is why I was pretty surprised by this. And any releases or re-releases of Sam's work are not gonna get by me haha

Thank you for buying it; I figure that if there was anything new we'd've at least had some kind of press release or RTs from Bruce.  That's why I guessed the Mexican TV edit was what we were looking at.

Okay, so this came in while I was out of town and I only had the opportunity to pop it in last night. It's the exact same disc as the existing Lionsgate release, down to the disc art and everything. The time discrepancy was just an error on the online listing. They took existing discs and put them into cases with new front artwork. Mystery solved.

Thank you for doing that!
