That's sadly only part of what's making the writing awful.

Previews for AOD #3, which comes out today.

Ash spewing "make me a sandwich"  and pudding wrestling jokes and people going Deadite like they do in the remake; my it's hilarious to read this after ASHVED Casting spoilers came out....

The AOD Coffee Table Book comes out today too!

Yep, and there's about two covers in there that I don't ever recall seeing before which was nice. It's a very nice book. Happy I got it so fast.

I managed to flip through it at my comic shop earlier; it's a very nice, solid book, gives a brief description of each arc before the montage of covers.  It's nice if you don't have the covers framed, if you like art books or want references. 

It's selling for around $40 so too rich for my blood at the moment.  Will grab it after my birthday though!

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Do we really need a prequel to Dead by Dawn?

Whelp, this is an interesting idea to do with the license (and LOL I see some subtle Dynamite jabbing going on there in that ad copy).  I'm guessing this was licensed through whoever owns ED/ED2 on the Ghosthouse end of things.

They COULD make a pre-ED2 "history of the Nec" thing interesting, but without Ash in it IDK how well it will sell.  They could do AUs or something? Give us an Annie comic?  IDK.  I'm intrigued but will judge when I get previews.  As long as it's better than that awful Evil Dead retelling Dark Horse did a couple of years ago, I'm on board.

Wow, I thought that space goat thingy was stories influenced by Evil Dead 2 and not a prequel?

From what I'm getting from the press release, Tales of The Ex-Mortis is an anthology series that leads into Beyond Dead By Dawn. 

I'm guessing the prequel follows Knowby and Henrietta through their ordeal- I'd love a pre-cabin look at Ash and Linda but I don't think that'd be a bloodthirsty enough subject for them.

To me, 'Beyond' means further on than .. but still ..... I would much more enjoy reading a telling of Prof Knowby and Henrietta's prequel trials ... I want to watch Knowby recording his fears and the incantations on his Panasonic reel to reel .. I'd like to find out who's skeleton arm Ash took a page from in the cellar in Evil Dead 2, seems likely it was Knowby's skeletal remains, possessed Henrietta having killed Knowby in the cellar?  :happydevil

That'd've been my guestimation too, but they seem to be all prequel.  I can understand why, since anything they'd do post-movie would be seen as a pale imitation of AOD.

And some concept art has been released of Ash in the series, hattip again to Elise.  It's odd because
they're portraying him in his post-movie rig, but with two hands.

Also they're going with Dynamite Comics canon and
his middle name is James.
