With the show ending tomorrow and my excitement/dread at an all time high, I wanted to keep it light. Unfortunately, I showed up to the board quite a bit late and missed out most of the past discussions so I wanted to share a few moments that I really enjoyed and I would like to hear yours. I know seasons 1 and 2 weren’t quite what some fans were looking for and not up to the standard of season 3, but for me there’s a place for both season 1 and 3. Especially moving forward into an uncertain future, I’m very pleased to have 30 episodes to fall back on in addition to the movies I’ve seen countless times.
One scene that really stuck out for me was Ash’s death. It was such a close and intimate moment between Ash and his sidekick, even if it was technically assisted suicide. It was disturbing to watch our undefeated hero die.
Going all the way back to episode 1 and not featuring any of our main characters, the scene with Amanda and her partner was thrilling. The lights and rotation, and his line “ I need you.....to die” was all great suspense.
And to round it out with season 2, here’s a minor, easy to miss moment but it’s pure Evil Dead to me. Episode 1 in Jacksonville when Ash removes the arms from the female deadite followed by her head, the bodytries to regain balance and eventually slips in the puddle of blood. Subtlety combined with absurdity, I laughed my ass off.
Obviously there are a ton of great moments, but these stuck out to me right away
