I don't know which country you're posting from but if you're talking about the re-release (and the company Blockbuster Video) that was available from Blockbuster videos in the UK, it's not very rare at all. I have that one and it's also my least favourite Evil Dead video release. Graham Humphreys, the artist who created the art work for the legendary chalky style original Palace Pictures release was brought back to design this new cover with the words 'at last .. it's back'. On a side note, he also did the cover art for the movie Santa Sangre and branched out to design album sleeve work for the independant record company 4AD. You could also buy prints and cards of his work for a while. After the BBFC allowed The Evil Dead to be comercially re-released, geeks got excited .. untill we watched it and found it was heavily censored. Blockbuster Video took the piss by re-releasing a few 'nastys' advertised and suggested as un-cut when they were often even more cut than the earlier heavily cut releases. Blockbuster was single handly responsible for the closure of all the coolest/grindhouse video stores at the end of the 80's in my area and the UK. I was told at the time they were a right wing bible belt funded company. The last one I went in then had a pile of customer suggestion cards on the airport type desk. I took the lot and threw them in the outside bin. I visited Yarmouth last month and found a Blockbuster Video store. I haven't seen one in years. The broken front window was taped up over the cracks and they were having a closing down sale. I felt a little bad for the woman behind the counter but got a kick out of seeing Blockbuster in it's last breaths. Wankers.
This sleeve design was also used in a simultaneous UK store release:
