[Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake - Mark your spoilers!

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake

Aintitcoolnews has a new snippet of info and a photo.... Mia is being played by the singer Phill Collins's daughter, Lily Collins:

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/52484

Her imdb biography:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2934314/bio

The second from last sentence in this link gives you the names and inter-relationships of the other characters still waiting to be cast ... David 'the mechanic' sounds like the new asshole type Scotty?, is Olive, Mia's best friend (helping her through rehab the new kind & soft Linda type? ... if ghosthouse are staying faithfull to the dynamics of the original, then that would make the last character, Eric, through process of illimination, a possibly plausible Ash in this scenario. I'm not suggesting Eric's the hero. We've been spoonfed that Mia is  ;) ... let's wait and see.

Collins is a name I never would have imagined coming up. Btw, the messages on aicn about her are priceless and some are just wrong.

Some of the people on AICN are absolutely the most uneducated and ridiculous posters on the net. Kinda like reading trainwrecked comment pages on YouTube. I don't ever take the people on that site seriously.

Yeah. At times it is hard to tell if they are joking around, or being serious.

I've just found El Cojonudo, the new director's first horror short, full length on youtube. It's from 2005, subtitled, pretty crazy in places and visually very similar to Raimi's early work. There's some nudity in case anyone's bothered about that.  Enjoy & Happy New Year:

I'm swinging towards looking forward to this remake a bit more after this viewing.

Nice find. Now I actually have something that makes me want to see it. Up until this point I have had almost no interest  :-\

The remake news is slow today ...
A completely non-Evil Dead related short splatter film (but it's fun anyway so enjoy)...

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake

Alvarez's style reminds me of Raimi's early work. I can see why they chose him.

Maybe Raimi also saw Alvarez's Panic Attack short. With a mere $10,000 budget, it looks like it cost a lot more ... a bit like the original Evil Dead's small budget that Raimi had to work with :

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake

More details have been added on imdb.com .... Sam, Bruce and Rob are listed as producers but two Juno guys are listed as the executive producers. Sam's working on the screenplay with the Panic Attack guys. The casting agents have been named. :

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake

Kain has linked to a tweet that Lily Collins is now OUT of the project due to a scheduling issue...

... I'm trying to think up a Phil Collins related joke but it's half past eight in the morning.

There is a lot of interesting info to think about after checking out the link with the cameo, director, star, and  most of all the date. The picture is certainly quite nice.

Aha! Thank you!  :) You can thank being a Fright Rags customer for that. They sent out an email to everyone who bought their limited edition Evil Dead shirt (they had 500 shirts but some people bought more than 1) saying that they had ten of those necklaces for sale. They sent an email announcing when they would put it up for sale and that they would send another email at that time with the link to buy it. Safe to say, I was there refreshing my email at the time. Whenever other fans look at my collection, I SWEAR everyone points out the necklace. I myself do not own any props from the movies and would love to have one like many other people do but that replica is the closest thing.

Some guarded opinions from Jane Levy ( and Bruce Campbell says " ... the trees are not terribly nice this time round either" )
