I bought this "rare" movie poster about 12years ago in a place on the north side of Chicago for a lot of money. I was told it was extremely rare so I bought it for my collection.  I have a family now and slowly sold off my pieces and are left with this last piece.  I want to sell it bought can not find any information about it on the web.  I dont know where it came from besides the obvious... France.  Is it a special piece? I sent a pic to a Hollywood consignment/auction website and they appraised it for $900.00, slightly more then I had paid for it.  What do you think?

There is a little damage on the bottom.  Mounted on cardboard and wrapped in shrink wrap

My only idea due to the size of it, and that it's French would be that it could possibly be a Cannes Film Festival poster? .. I've honestly no idea .. did Evil Dead II even ever play at Cannes considering the festival traditionally only usually showcases new talent? .. $900 is a very high price for any un-signed Evil Dead Poster, but still, I've never seen a repro poster at this massive size before other than that huge Shelly poster used in Palace Software's London window display for it's ED game in the early 80's. .. thanks for sharing and PLEASE let us know if you learn any more about its history.

The top part of the poster reads "Grand prize of the Festival of France of Film Fantastique which usually this "Fantastique" can be used to describe genre films. It's a beauty and huge! Too bad about the rip on the bottom but it's still fantastic. I definitely can't cough up $900 though. O_O
