Rubys Pink Hair?

Hi everyone, I have seen season 2 now and really enjoyed it especially Ruby's scenes coz I love Lucy Lawless.
My question is why did Rubys hair start to turn pink? it was never spoken about or explained in the show from what I can remember!
I know in episode one of season 2 we see Rubys children attack her and absorb her immortality.
So is that why her hair turns pink coz she loses her immortality? 
I really wish it would have been explained clearly in the episodes!

To answer the question seriously - they never address it. I think the implication is that Ruby loves to change her image a lot. I know Lucy just seemed to do it for the fun of it I think?
 
Yeah, I figured Ruby just did it because she felt like it.

I guess a programme reason might be to
differentiate her from her past self, although that's not exactly hard.

That makes sense, but since 80's Ruby is a bottle blonde it's another unnecessary choice they likely made.

Well considering how long Lucy had dyed her hair for Xena, she or someone in wardrobe probably thought something like...

"No one can figure out this character. Hey ruby = red. But I think red is cheezy, maybe some pink? It's really popular right now, my daughter has pink hair."
 
I completely forgot that Lucy's a natural blonde (you mentioning this made me remember Bruce talking about seeing her as a blonde in a PSA on a flight to NZ).
 
I cant help but think it must have something to do with her becoming mortal. 
In season one she had her dark beautiful hair then she releases her evil children.
In season 2 episode one u see her evil children attacking her and her immortality is being drained so that makes me believe that for some reason her hair turned pink coz of her losing her immortality!
Just wish it was explained because one episode her hair is dark n next its pink.

She just dyed her hair.

Rewatch the ep. It's pink before she becomes mortal.

Also Bruce got an updated haircut for S02 as well.

They probably all got some kind of update so that the season looks 'new'.
 
I think that could be true in the sense that Ruby has a new life now,.so changes her hair colour to fit.

But I don't think it's something that just happened 'by magic' when she lost her immortality.
