The Prince Charles Cinema was one of the first venues to play The Evil Dead in England ..

They're showing the trilogy through the night on the 5th of November with a new grindhouse styled poster that will hopefully turn up on ebay someday:

Why can't this happen in Montreal?  :(  Anybody here going to this?

Wish I had the time ... especially because of the historic attachment this cinema has to the first film ... I could only be more impressed if they re-opened the Scala for one night for this show.

I bet they have at least one arthouse/cult cinema in Montreal Elise .. if you provide them a large percentage of the door takings and organise the night properly, these smaller places usually 'bite your hand off' to host a theme night.

edit: .. no idea who these people are but they look like a semi organised crew local to you?

Maybe you could hook up with them?

That place is real obscure but I've heard of it! This is in conjunction with the Montreal Fringe festival. Honestly I should somehow get in contact with the organizers of the Montreal Fantasia Film Festival. I missed it last year, but the year before they played Re-Animator and Jeffrey Combs AND Stuart Gordon were there but they were also there for the one man play I attended, An Evening with Edgar Allen Poe.
