RE: Evil Dead Television Series

RE the Classic: I think there have to be a couple of versions: one for stuntwork, one for driving, so in case the engine freezes they can always have something to work with.

I'd like to have more pictures of Amanda looking confident and fewer of her on the ground bleeding, plz,  AvED press team.

RE: Evil Dead Television Series

*The following post below is just me grasping at straws at what the opening of AVED could be, not meant to be taken seriously.*

I have been having this thought in my head for awhile now about how ash kept the necronomicon with him for some many years, and i might just have a theory on that situation.

I have a feeling were gonna get recapped at the beginning of the pilot episode, judging from that one shot from the main trailer of a young looking ash looking at the book. It's gonna recap the events from ED 1 and 2, and we get to the scene's were the big portal opens up but instead of it showing ash getting sucked in, he manages to save himself from being sucked into it and we see him recovering from what just took place, morning arrives and he snatches the book up, and escapes from the cabin.

*CUT TO PRESENT DAY ASH*

It's a rough guess at how he still has the book in his possesion but it seems the most plausible to me atleast.

RE: Evil Dead Television Series

Even if they followed on from Army of Darkness (I understand the events won't get mentioned -yet- due to rights issues, etc but the events might still have happened) there's a whole bunch of stuff that's glossed over. I.e. in the Theatrical edit it jumps from the Wise Men informing Bruce what passage to quote, to him in the Supermarket narrating to his colleague, played by Ted Raimi. There are a number of areas where he could have grabbed the book at some point after returning. Assuming it recovered from it's damage in the first film.

I actually preferred the other ending of AoD, but even if it follows that, which I doubt since it's catering primarily to US audiences, to start with, he obviously got back somehow.

You sound like there is more than one picture of her bleeding on the ground. :)

@Hurley - I'm counting the trailer in there  :P

It's interesting that Roush is emphasizing how funny the show is over how bloody it is; then again he only screened the pilot (also that second publicity shot is brand new, and likely from ep 3 or 4?  I wonder what happened to Ash's hand).

ETA @ Joe - I kind of like Joe's idea, they're going to have to explain this in a way that nebulously connects everything back to Kandarian demons without referencing most of AOD.

@Mardeadite: This makes me wonder how confusing it's going to be for folks overseas; I need to go back and re-read and see who got the S-Mart ending and who got he Apoc ending.

RE: Evil Dead Television Series

There's going to be a sneak preview at this fest, i bet its new footage, hopefully it gets posted up online.

Heres the tweet

RE: Evil Dead Television Series

@Joe and Hurley - Nice catches both!  I can't remember if there are supposed to be other screenings across the country, but I'm guessing they'll be previewing the pilot after showing the first two Evil Deads.  Very interesting that they're not screening AOD at all.  Bruce's confidence seems to be at high ebb right now.  it's interesting to read about how he felt acting as Ash with people who aren't Sam directing him; he used to be very adamant that he'd never be Ash without Sam directing.

This quote has me concerned:
I read an essay once how you should send the old guys into battle because they know what’s coming. If they get killed, they’ve already lived a long life, and they know what pain is. Ash is kind of like that.

To me it's good news, that tells me were gonna be seeing a very different side of ash we haven't seen before, i have a feeling were gonna be seeing this attitude and self acceptance towards the end of season 1. I bet he gets this way around episode 5 after the possession of kelly.

RE: Evil Dead Television Series

See, that'd be interesting.  I'm just concerned this is a hint we'll end up with permanently dead Ash as a result, and that's the last thing I want out of this show.

I don't think they will kill a fan favorite character off in the first season of the show especially when his name in the main title, i can see a open ended finale with a cliffhanger leaving you with a "will he survive this situation" kind of deal, but i just don't see it happening.

RE: Evil Dead Television Series

They won't kill Ash. Bruce stated many times that this is his show and he will stay here as long as the fans want him to. And I think that one of the reasons why this show is called ASH vs Evil Dead (besides the obvious parallel with Bruce Campbell vs. Army of Darkness) is to ensure the fans that this is a show about Ash and that he's not going anywhere.

On the other hand, if the whole series would end with Ashes death, thus ending his whole story, I'm down with that. But that's a question we don't have to deal with for another two to five years. :)

RE: Evil Dead Television Series

What if Ash ends up dying (or almost dying) halfway through the season and is revived? Maybe that's how he sees Linda again? And when he wakes up, he's found new purpose and has a new lease on life.

I think that him seeing Linda, whose supposed to be played by a young actress again, will be some kind of evil trick in the cabin, where he should return at the end of season one. But the idea of some kind of game changing near death experience might work too. :)

RE: Evil Dead Television Series

I have found something about Linda in AvsED: (It's a spoiler)

Interesting bit of info you found there about Linda, and I'm glad you came out of the shadows to join us K100.

RE: Evil Dead Television Series

Also, here's the best quality version of the official art without the title:

I don't think it was posted here, or anywhere else. It's a good wallpaper for mobile and PC.
