RE: Evil Dead Television Series
RE the Famous Monsters cover; they've had that art of Bruce for awhile and had a teeshirt with that design at Comic Con! I've actually never seen it in the wild but I've always hope they'd give it a wider release.
RE the picture itself: I like that they're keeping Kelly's weapon an axe. Sort of doubles down on the Ash-is-her-mentor thing!
RE the Twitter behavior: This is far, far worse on the Tumblr, where the desperate search for (what they think) are snappy Ash-like comebacks leads to sex-based puns that don't even make sense. It's actively gross and I don't get why they think it works as a marketing ploy.
Back on topic: Elise found a bunch of
news about the hubub leading into the show's premier. Highlights:
* There will be additional footage shown at New York Comic Con
* The first four minutes of the premier will debut across all social media and digital platforms on the 24th of October.
* Bruce will host an Evil Dead marathon featuring all three movies on the day before the show's premier and they will do giveaways on the hashtag #EvilDeadMarathon and presumably share media from the movies on the Twitter (they actually use the word 'buzzy' in the press release here, fully reminding me of how corporatized the franchise is becoming)
* There will be a premier event in Hollywood with costume contests and 'scares' (presumably scareactors hired to frighten audiences). There will be a red carpet but no word of who will attend.
* Starz is trying to put together party packs for people hosting premier parties, no word on how they'll be distributed.
